Mebyon Kernow – the Party for Cornwall is holding its Annual Conference at the Shire Hall Suite, Bodmin, on Saturday 22nd November.

All are invited to attend.

Topics for discussion will include self-government, local government, environmental protection, housing, the need for a Cornish Language Act and the Cornish Fighting Fund / Framework Convention for National Minorities. Our electoral strategy for the Cornwall Council elections (likely to take place in October 2009) will also be discussed.

The draft / timetable for the meeting is as follows:

10.30 - Registration, tea and coffee

11.00-12.45 MORNING SESSION
This session will comprise the Annual General Meeting and a number of motions will be debated.

12.45-2.00 BREAK FOR DINNER

2.00-3.00 FIRST AFTERNOON SESSION
This session will include speeches from leading MK members about campaigns, elections and the year ahead.

3.00-3.30 AFTERNOON BREAK

3.30-6.00 SECOND AFTERNOON SESSION
The remaining motions placed before Conference will be dealt with during this final part of the meeting. There will also be an open session at which matters can be raised with the Party’s National Executive.

We would be delighted to see you at the Conference. If you would like to attend, let us know and we will send out the finalised paperwork one week in advance of the meeting.

Mebyon Kernow - the Party for Cornwall has just produced its first-ever party political broadcast.

I am afraid that you will not see it on the television because, in order to qualify for air-time, MK would need to stand in nine regions in the European Parliamentary Elections. The broadcast can be viewed online at: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bYIgzI6Rl4c&feature=channel
